Hello again!

Well, here is your opportunity to do what you've always wanted to do...

contribute to my research!

You can actually know what my research is about in my past post before you get all excited okay?

Here's how you can do it!

Write down:

  • your educational background (whether you have studied in Mexico, the US or in any other country)
  • where are you currently studying (Mexico, US, or any other country)
  • classification (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior in high school or college)

I recommend high school and college students with Mexican or American educational backgrounds to answer.

...and after that you might want to, meaning you have to, point out your answers to this 2 fairly simple questions*:

What writing and reading strategies do you use in school?
[ ]writing essays
[ ]have a thesis statement
[ ]using sophisticate words or action verbs
[ ]brainstorming before writing
[ ]revision of your work
[ ]peer review
[ ]thinking rhetorically of your own and others' work (if you are not quite sure of what thinking rhetorically is, I guess you do not use this strategy)
[ ]have an intended audience
[ ]summary
[ ]read texts as arguments
[ ]read texts as facts
[ ]analyze literature
[ ]using clear examples that support what you wrote on each body paragraph
[ ]highlight important things
[ ]citation
[ ]other (any other strategy you can think of)(Oh, and write it down)

Right know I can't think of any more accurate strategies other than "usage of pen or pencil when writing" thus I will end the list here.

And finally, how often do you use these strategies? In class, for homework, or for fun (doubt it).
[ ]Once a year
[ ]Once a semester
[ ]Once a few months
[ ]Once a month
[ ]Once a few weeks
[ ]Once a week
[ ]Once a few days
[ ]Once a day
[ ]Once an hour
[ ]Once a minute

Pretty please!
Post your comment with your answers below and feel free to write any extra information, comments, or questions you would like to add! (Regarding the research of course, I will not answer any dinner invitations. Sorry guys!).

This is how I will feel if you answer

Hello there!
How are you today kind sir? Or should I say madame?

Well I am starting this blog with enthusiasm to expand the research I've recently done concerning my question:

"What are the differences in writing perspective between Mexican and American students?"

I think that what I found out, with my tiny bitty small research, will blow the life away from your soul! Alright, maybe it won't be as intense, but it might as well surprise you.

I found out, yes by myself, there are NO DIFFERENCES IN WRITING PERSPECTIVE between these two different border countries!

"Wait what?" "Yup" "No differences?" "Nope, none."

Rather, I believe, suspect, and hope for, there are differences in practice and strategies. But here's where the magic begins:

We can expand this discussion even more! There can be differences in language (of course), culture (obviously), student environment (dhu), education systems (derp), <--- (infinity).

But the real question here is how do these factors produce a difference between these countries in writing?

I am aiming to attract people with an educational background from Mexico and are currently studying or will study in the United States with my blog, JUST LIKE YOU! Hopefully...

If not, you are still welcome intruder.

This blog can help you go through the transition of Mexican to American education  a lot more smoothly by being a part of the discussion.

I am very intrested on this topic because I share the same background. I have studied in Mexico my whoooole life, except my senior year in high school where I realized: "Hey, this is rather different than what I was taught before."

Was it actually different or did I imagine everything? Well you can help me figure out if I am crazy or not.

Whatever your intention is, please do participate with your personal experience and observations about this topic.

Merci! And no, I do not know much French. Should I rather say GRACIAS?

In this blog you can find my complete research paper for any doubts about my research. Ask me any questions about it and I'll TRY to answer them, I am warning you.
